The thing is that under Saudi millenials and Gen Z American progressive liberalism is very popular. They are heavily Americanised and most of them want to move to the Anglosphere or NW Europe, especially well-educated one's. You see this trend pretty much in all non-white countries.

Spain. I bet most Spanish people are pissed off the anti-Spanish government ruling them right now, and the piece of crap who leads it (aka Pedro Sanchez).

Upper-class youths from Jeddah =/= Saudi youths in general.

I don't know about that, but it sure will have a trickle-down effect.

Lest we forget most hardcore Islamists (who are generally young themselves) come either directly from Saudi Arabia or have been trained/radicalised in Saudi-funded mosques and madrassas. This notion that "everyone in the world deep down thinks like a left-wing Swede and would act as such, if we gave them the chance" is ironically really ethnocentric and naive bullshit itself.

After all even Argentina, which is one of the most socially liberal countries in Latin America and certainly far removed from nearly anything found in the Middle East, nevertheless voted to keep abortion illegal. (Unlike Ireland).

And much of the 'progressive liberalism' that does exist in the developing world often comes with at least a dash of colourism and OWD, which is itself reactionary.

As a matter of fact, as a gay man myself I do find much of mainstream LGBT culture is very exclusionary towards non-whites.
