It very much does in South Africa - although changing, it is still mainly the sport of the White elite. On the other hand, the other Home Nations teams besides Wales aren't as posh as they used to be.

In South Africa it was always a white sport yes but that is changing. West country Eng rugby is popular and isn't class based there but does have the middle clsss stigma that rugby has in the south east.

Australia is more class based than anyway imo, Rugby League is a working class sport there, Rugby Union for posh areas of a Sydney and the public school network

Pacific Islanders play all over the world for all teams, incredible how natural they are for the game

I have had a few but that is the spirit of the game. It is not like football like that,

6 Nations is the best tournament in sport. Nothing else like it.

After narrow and disappointing home losses to Wales and Ireland, Scotland are now running rings round Italy. (Mind you, so has everyone else). I wonder how Scotland will do next week in the rearranged match in Paris?

Scotland beat Italy 52-10! It is their biggest victory over the latter, and also (marginally) happens to be Italy's biggest defeat in this year's tournament.

That depends on whether France get 4 tries and surpass Wales on points difference. It was a horrible loss in injury time to the French.

Forgot about the France vs Scotland game. It will be the decider. I'm sure all of Wales will be backing the Scots.

West Country is quite cricket/rugby. The town I've been to the most is probably Taunton, and they have that decent cricket ground in town. Yeovil reminds me of the North a wee bit more, and they have the football.

Wish I could get more exicted about the rugby. It just can't match the way I feel about football.
