I started smoking late (for Croatian standards) as student at age 20-21. And I smoked little, just socially and never developed addiction. However later I smoked much more (mostly roll on tobacco) for my own pleasure.
Quit it like month ago and feel no need for smoking any longer. But I was never passionate smoker who find it hard to quit.
My main reason to stop was dehydrated and dry throat after waking up in the morning. It takes long time for throat to recover from that even after stopping.
I'm 29 now.
What is your motivation to quit? That is also important to predict success probability, IMO. And yeah, good luck!!

Smoking is retarded by itself it’s only good when it compliments your drinking.

I started age 17 (now 39) which is also rather late for Austrian standards, I know people who started age 9, most started age 14 ish. US americans eading this be shocked now.
I catched a cold and didn't feel like smoking for 3 days so i took this chance to stop it entirely. In the months before I became more and more disgusted by the habbit, I noticed a lack of the ability to smell or taste things and this when I used to have a good nose as a kid (should be with that size). And there is really no good reason to do it, pay € 5.20 every other day to destroy your health?
Thany you and good luck to you as well!
