But today, Seljuk and Kayi themed TV series made Turkish society overcome the prejudice towards long hair on men.

Head had to be shaved when one became a Muslim. Forceful head shaving took place when some bek converted and forced all of his subordinates to do likewise along with circumcision or when defeated infidel beks were sparred but were forced to convert at least nominally.
