Why Bulgarian?

Am I Bulgarian?

All my life I lived with the impression that I am Roman, but in all Gedmatch computers I get much closer to Bulgaria. I don't know a word of Bulgarian, in fact the last thing I mentioned is that Romania had a war with Bulgaria; and basically my great-grandparents would have fought with them, so that I would now find out that I am more Bulgarian than Romanian?

I get almost twice as much Bulgaria as Romania, and I don't understand.
