The CURRENT Grand Solar Minimum

Many researchers agree that we have now entered a ‘grand solar minimum’ — the question is, however, just how much of an effect this period of solar inactivity will have on anthropogenic ‘climate change’. I’ll post a research paper concerning the topic below:

From the article’s conclusion:

“The reduction of a terrestrial temperature during the next 30 years can have important implications for different parts of the planet on growing vegetation, agriculture, food supplies, and heating needs in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. This global cooling during the upcoming grand solar minimum 1 (2020–2053) can offset for three decades any signs of global warming and would require inter-government efforts to tackle problems with heat and food supplies for the whole population of the Earth.”

You’re lucky — all I’ve heard, continually, is “the world is ending! The world is ending!”. Research into solar activity certainly seems to suggest so, but for different reasons (alright, that’s a bit of an exaggeration).

Maybe the decreased temperatures will result in mass-migration towards the equatorial region, which would be nice. Cold weather is in my veins.
