Central Asia is more recent. However "Central Asians" or "Turkic" peoples originate from being an admixed Eurasian group of both West Eurasian and East-Eurasian ancestry, most of their East-Eurasian coming from Mongolia and most of their West Eruasia coming from Russia and the Middle East. So you could argue it's both

If I add 29.69% Sintatshta Steppe Herders + 1.02% West Siberian + 16.57% Caucasian, are only 3.81% proto-Turkish left? (I mean the first Turks, the first to ever exist)

But what if I add another 10.41% Volga Ural? Because it is believed to also come from the Altai?
