There's nothing to convince me that an Avar sample from Hungary is more related to Early Slavs than to Balkanites themselves. The region was extremely mixed at that time.

What results do you get on MyHeritage in Italian + Greek & South Italian ?

I don't get greek nor Italian AT ALL on MyHeritage lol just 4% northwest european and 5.5% West Asian

I know, I just don't understand why people emphasize so much on the Slavic element when Romanians are one of the least Slavic admixed people in the region. They are on average less Slavic than their neighbors, and more paleo-Balkan.

What counts as slavic though? East Europe? Idk... These terms don't make much sense, because the Balkans are also slavic admixed.

What about Paleo-Balkan (South-Italian-like) input?

They're a mixture of Paleo-Balkanic peoples, South Slavs and Romans. So to an extent yes but far from "The direct" descendants, I'd still argue it's Mainland Italians that descend from the Romans.

Clearly manipulated results, there's just no way Romanians are 50% (Early) Slavic. You can't make an average out of poor sampling.
