An open letter against Apple’s privacy-invasive content scanning technology

A large number of security and privacy experts, legal experts, and more, in an open letter to Apple:

The open letter contains tons of arguments, scenarios, and examples from experts about just how bad this technology is, and just how easily it can be abused.

I don't trust Ubuntu for multiple reasons, the main ones being its backing by a single corporation and the shit-ton of built-in packages of dubious security (the integrated Amazon search, for example, was shown to be storing user queries in god knows where and it was enabled by default just some releases ago). Anything that is too dumbed down ("user-friendly") tends to be shitty and flawed.

Ubuntu is an ancient African word for "I can't install and configure Debian". Agreed, I dunno why people find Debian difficult to install and configure. I have been using Linux since 1997 and back in the 90s it was a lot of more difficult. I remember installing Debian Slink in 1999 and I had to compile a custom kernel to get things to work including my sound card. Nowadays, installing ,configuring and using Debian is EXTREMELY easy I find.
