Years ago I made the comparison between the US and Brazil (perhaps more appropriate, since both are essentially White-Black mixes), so now let us compare the US and its southern neighbour.

You can't really compare the two since in one the dominant group makes up only 60% (non-Hispanic Whites) and in the other it is as high as 90% (Mestizo).

The US has a history of race segregation while Mexico has a history of race-mixing so I am pretty sure it would be more accepted in the latter although perhaps not more common since the overall population is more homogenous.

Mexico is not 90% Mestizo. More like 60-70%. It is not as uniform as many think.

Yeah, really Mexico as an entity is sort of built upon that foundational mestizaje, and even if a Mexican is not genetically mixed their culture is still mestizo, you know. Meanwhile, the Anglos had a different approach in their colonization and settlement so it is not really comparable.

But what about how both countries are like in the present?

Here there aren't problems at all if a white mexican married with an afro-mexican, or if a native american married with a mestizo, or if a white married with an amerindian, etc etc

This is for the general population; in high class if a white married with someone who doesn't is a castizo or white, could have been problems/rejection for example

So I guess in México the "interracial" couples are much better accepted Imo

That's actually one of the main differences (for good or ill) between Latin American countries and European/North American ones: in the former, racism tends to INCREASE the further up the social spectrum you go, whereas in the latter insofar as there is even a pattern at all it is very much the other way round.

Well, I would argue that fundamental difference in their foundation as societies is why they have such radical different views towards race mixing, really most Hispanics (outside of anthrofora) who aren't infected by that anglo influenced false dialectic think in cultural/ethnic terms first.

For example, I lived in Miami for the first 14 years of my life and pretty much never heard a Latino describe themselves as a "White Mexican" or "White Cuban", they would view someone like Andy Garcia as much a part of their "group" as Celia Cruz, race just isn't that relevant to their identity as a people, you know what I'm saying?

I think LATAM societies are more divided by class than anything else, imo.

We can debate the percentages but the fact remains that the US is a true multi-racial country with at least five separate racial categories (non-Hispanic White, Black, Latino, Asian, native American) and Mexico is a homogenous Mestizo country culturally/identity if not necessarily genetically.

On that same argument, the US is culturally not that diverse either - at least 80% of people speak English as their sole language, most second and third-generation immigrants (including even many Hispanics, let alone Asians and Europeans) lose fluency in their ancestral tongues, and most people follow broadly similar tastes in music, sport, film and television.
