From both genetical and phenotypical perspectives, it depends on the region.

* Wallachians and Moldovans are closer to Bulgarians; Northern Moldovans also overlap with Western Ukrainians.
* Transylvanians overlap with Serbs in the South/Southwest, Hungarians in the center, and Western Ukrainians in the North.

* Wallachians and Moldovans are quite close in general, except for the Northern part of Moldova.
* Southern Transylvanians are close to Wallachians (because Southern Transylvanians colonized Wallachia).
* Northern Transylvanians are close to Moldovans (again, because of the way colonization of Moldova happened)

An interesting group of Romanians are those from Sibiu. They are close to Wallachians, but with higher Med and Saxon admixture. They look like this:
