You are only half right because Cuba received a lot of Spanish after its independence. After the Spanish-American Spanish migration to Puerto Rico was banned by the USA. So they barely received euros after 1898 unlike the other island.

Zebruh is wrong because the peak of the Canarian migration to the DR was in the 1700s right before the Haitian revolution (in Cuba and PR was more like in the 1800s). The initial wave of Spanish men to the country had a founding effect but most of the euros from very early in the colony didn't stay. They left to Mexico.

Canarian migration in the Spanish island started to be more consistent from the 1700s. Even if the earliest influx of Andalusians had its founding effect, it's not like all the caucasoid component is going to come from them. Los canarios se reproducian como ratas. Cuba tambien tuvo un monton de Galicians y Austurianos y fueron muchos.

Slave and freedmen negros, pucelano, took part in the Conquista

The first example of this was the first negro arriving to North America, current USA, named Estebanico, who accompanied Cabeza de Vaca in his long journey across all the south of the current USA --journey related in his book 'Naufragios'. Aftewards Estebanico was released and took part in a conquest expedition in the search for the 7 cities of Cibola, already as a freedman.

They were not so many, maybe 4 or 5 of them, but they did exist, were with the spanish consquistadores and acted like conquistadores as well.

It's true that all of them arrived to the New World as slaves --usually accompanying a Spaniard, his owner-- from the peninsula.

Unlike it was in the anglo-saxon America, it was quite easy to get the freedom for black negro slaves with the castillian/spanish laws.

They were conquistadors. Mostlly from contracts. Conquistadors juan garcia was born a free man.
And if they were slave or not did not matter. They lived like free men and were practically only slaves on paper. Some where even rich.
