Maybe for the South and Santo Domingo? Because I don't think pred. SSA in the Cibao/North would reach as high as 40%-50% like these group. Perhaps only in tows like Cotui, Samana, Sosua, etc.

When it comes to the Cibao, in the urban part of Santiago (a city of 1 million) and La Vega pred. SSAs are more like 15%-20% at the most. I imagine San Francisco has an amount of like 25%, the town Puerto Plata more like 30% but not as high in the rest of the province though. The remaining of the Cibao I imagine it to be around 10% in most places. Pred. SSAs are very uncommon in the piedemonte of Cordillera Central (Sajoma, Janico, Baitoa, Moncion, Sabana Iglesia, etc). In my province we have pockets of them but our most populated part (Moca and surrounding) is not as SSA as let's say San Francisco. Overall I think the whole Cibao should be like 15%-20% pred. SSA and that where 50% of the Dominican population lives. An average of the country should be between the Southern part of the island (that includes Santo Domingo and the East) and the Northern part (the Cibao) IMO.

David Ortiz is from Santo Domingo. His family is from nearby San Cristobal. Albert Pujols is also from Santo Domingo but has roots in Ocoa in the South. Alex Rodriguez is Dominican-American but his roots are also in Santo Domingo (the working-class barrio of San Carlos in the current Distrito Nacional). Pedro Martinez is from Manoguayabo in the outskirts of Santo Domingo. Manny Ramirez is also from Santo Domingo too. Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero is from Don Diego in the municipality of Nizao (province of Peravia in the South). Hall of Famer Juan Marichal is from Montecristi province in what we call La Linea. As a matter he musg be the greatest cibaen~o baseball player in Major Leagues. It's funny because a lot of people don't consider Montecristi to be part of the Cibao LMAO.

I think some of those folks look darker in those pics. Look at Zoilo Almonte for example.
