    Default Slovenia eye colour study

I counted eye colours of 146 high school students from South Slovenia (town of Novo mesto) on this website: https://www.gimnm.org/fotogalerija-razredov/
Due to the limited image quality I had to divide the spectrum into only three categories

    Results

    N=146

    Blue and Grey = 39%
Green and Light Mixed = 15,1%
    Brown and Hazel = 45,9%

Overall 39% light eyes and 54,1% if you include light-mixed eyes. Pretty much what than I expected, there is one modern scientific study on eye colour from Slovenian capital which showed 45% blue (and grey) eyes, and 56% all light eyes.

Pretty sure low image quality played some role. With decent pics and adults used light eyes rate would obviously be higher.

Perhaps, but I compensated for non ideal image quality by how I named categories. For example eyes in the last category looked totally brown, but I named the category brown + hazel, because I know many of them would turn out hazel if the image quality was more ideal. I also have plenty of scientific studies on Slovenia to know that pure brown eyes are around 30-35% and cannot be 45%.

Everyone here is an athrotard, including you. How can I find Bulgarian school pictures better than you since I don't speak Bulgarian? I barely even found this one from my country. Not many schools have HQ images on their websites.

Also this study was done one live subjects so image quality didn't play a role and it still found only 56% light eyes:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3760663/

These are precise numbers they found:
44,7% blue eyes (probably includes grey)
11,3% green eyes or light ones with brown rings/spots
    14,4% dark mixed eyes
    29,6% brown eyes

56% light eyes is expected for a Central European population. A majority light eyes population. It is also the fairest Balkan nation

I remember very well that about 3 years ago I read a wikipedia article (I just searched for it again but cannot find it now - it could have been deleted or whatever) stating 73% of Slovenes have light eyes. Could be a different lightness criterion but still my honest guess is above 60%. Good work, anyway.

Novo Mesto has some immigrants though, it's not a fully Slovene town as far as I know. The avearge is probably a few % higher in reality.

I'd appreaciate it if you made a thread for Serbia as well. Not necersally by using graduates if you can't find anything of this scale, obviously.

    Thanks.

This study is actually what is sourced in wikipedia today. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color#Blue Coon said in ROE that Slovenians have almost 70% light eyes, and he sourced a study by Weisbach. However this study by Weisbach shows 31% brown eyes and around 14% or so Grey-brown eyes. He must have counted grey-brown under light-mixed, but from my experience this is a mistake as those are hazel eyes. At least today, there's no way 70% of Slovenians have light eyes unless you count all eyes except pure brown. However it's possible we have become a bit darker during Yugoslavia as many people from the poorer Yugoslav republics moved to Slovenia and mixed with us.
