Both in equal measure usually. However I think Brits more often have these weird local accents/dialects that are hard to understand. My friend who studied at a Scottish University (so he also lived there) said Scotish dialect was barely understandable for him at first and the American students at his Uni were easier to understand.

I would have made a great Superman.

N.B. I should've said "non-native English-speakers" in the poll. If there is a Mod around, could you change that for me please?

Brits. Generally, I try to avoid listening to American accent to spare my ear and this might be the reason.

I would agree that American English, both in relative and real terms, is on the whole more uniform and straightforward than British English, although I would make a partial exception for AAVE, as well as some Deep South accents.

American English is far easier to understand, even when you account for regional accents.
