Turkey is a very unfortunate name for the country, it only encourages larping. When the ruling changed to a republic it should have been called Anatolia or something. Turkic influence in Turkey is small (is it 10%?), much like Bulgarians or Hungarians have little to do with their conquerors. Turks seem to be slow to catch up with this reality.
