Hungarians vs Moldovans (from the republic) : which ethnicity looks closer to Romanians?

I did an Erasmus year in Hungary and whereas I found some people somewhat similar looking and I was always addressed in Hungarian by strangers, there are some types that look specifically Hungarian and hard to find anywhere else.
Most of our types in Moldova however can also be found at varying frequencies in Romania. Obviously the biggest overlap is with bordering regions.

I saw photos of Romanians from night club that posted one TA user and they looked hardcore Southern Europeans could pass from Bulgaria to Ibeia. Moldavians look just like more darker Ukrainians to me.

Moldovans, because actually they are Romanians who was separated by Soviets in the past.

In fact, the Moldovans are quite similar to people from Northern Romania.

RM looks blend easily into the Eastern part of Romania.

Alongside with the base Southern looks, there's still plenty of Eastern looks in Romania, whereas Hungary is almost fully Central Euro.

You guys are confusing ethnicity with phenotype. Of course "Moldavians" are Romanians: by virtue of language and traditional culture but not by virtue of looks (which is pred. East Slavic with Balkan influences). Hungarians are definitely not Romanians by virtue of language and traditional culture, but by virtue of looks they look like a Western extension of Romanians (lots and lots of overlap, but differences do exist).

A similar case would be ethnic French. In looks they are closest to Southern Germans, but ethnically they are Romance but phenotypically they are Gaulish-Germanic mixes (at least in North).

Moldavians are not pred. East Slavic by look.

I would not say that they are closest to southern Germans, i remember my thread i did about central France vs Austria and the general consensus was that C France was darker, if anything the French are probably more of a people of themselves but with some overlap with all their neighbouring nations, if anything they are probably more similar to northernmost Alpine Italians in general pigmentation.

On topic the Hungarians i think are closer to Romanians, got a Moldovan on Facebook, most of them look quite different to Romanians, lighter, more eastern shifted.
