The Democrats were awesome back then. Segregation wasn't really a bad idea and then the Liberal Neocon Republicans forced integration, which literally destroyed the public school system.

The Democrats were the better party up until about 1948. At that point I would have voted for the Dixiecrats who broke away from the party, and after that the Democrats never really ran a decent candidate at the national level again.
