Default Where can this Spanish Civil War submarine comander pass?

I don´t believe in "classifications", but classify him if you want.

There is not much information available on the internet about him, although I know that in 1985 he was still alive.

    Edit:Sorry, it´s commander.

He can pass in a lot of countries i would say, hard to tell the length of his head because of the hat he is wearing so can't really tell if he could pass in Britain or not but he can pass in Spain, Italy, perhaps Portugal, France, Hungary, maybe Austria, most of the balkans.

I have not found any other photo of him.

Although I am surprised that it can pass in so many different places.

Do you think that when black and white photos are used (with not too much quality), people can not pay attention to the pigmentation so much and the classification becomes more difficult?

Not that I'm an expert, but what kind of uniform is that? Looks a bit weird - kinda leathery. Anyway. Pan-European.

Based on just this photo I would say most of Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me he is Italian, Portuguese, English, German, Polish, Ukrainian, etc. Other photos could possibly make me change my mind.

I think that pigmentation is harder to tell when black and white is used, for example quite a few British people photographed in B and W can pass for more southern Euro types because facial features are similar while if they were in colour they would often look more British on account of that. For example one of our greatest Prime ministers Clement Atlee i think looks very continental and even passes in the Balkans on account of this picture, though he was probably much paler in real life

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

But that is exactly the in order to classify, is more important facial traits than pigmentation. Which is not to say that pigmentation itself cannot tip the balance one way or the other.

However, thinking about whether a person has a good time in one country or another, pigmentation may be more relevant, and always keeping in mind that the majority of South Europeans, for example, vary a lot in skin pigmentation depending on the time of year.
