Do you think central Europe still exists?

Germany, Austria etc are simply western. On this forum they're sometimes called central forum because of genetics and phenotypes. I don't think anyone IRL consider them central or central-western.

The term "Eastern europe" is way too vague. Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus etc aren't in EU or NATO, so they're a completely different block than Czechia Hungary etc.. So one could argue Eastern part of European Union is Central Europe and Austria is simply western, most people will probably go by the cold war division anyway.

Of course, it's the originally Catholic and non-Western (old Eastern bloc) part of Europe.

I agree with that too. Not only politically but ofcourse culturally too. For example Hungarians and Russians aren't very similar, neither culturally nor in lifestyle and behaviour/mentality.

I don't see how is that possible since idea of Mittleleuropa was German idea from beginning. They invented CE.

The terminology doesn't matter so much. The point is that there are several cultural regions and Germany fits best with the countries West of it. Countries between Germany and the old Orthodox world are another cultural region. I associate those with Central Europe.

Central Europe is Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia (mostly Slavonia), the culture and living standards between east and west, religion is catholic and of course the geography. Partly central european is Austria and Transylvania for historical reasons, and if East Germany would exist today i would consider it also Central European, but Germany is western in general.
