They don't look Portuguese according to Oliver, who has a long experience of being exposed to Portuguese looks from his rides in the Lisbon's subway and his rides in donkey in the Portuguese countryside.

They are from Lisbon but it doesn't really matter where they are from in the case of Portugal, we are a fairly small nation bordering only Spain and quite distanced from the rest of Europe. You will find the same range of darker to lighter individuals pretty much wherever you go.

It doesn't work like in Italy where generally people will assume lighter individuals to be from the North. I can show bands who are more brunette than this set and it doesn't mean they are from the south.

Us Portuguese are very homogenous and we have many types like them tbh. People will either dark wash, or light washe us, but I'm telling you rn that seeing groups like these in any area of Portugal is not surprising. You will also see people who look more med like Pedro Ruben, or perhaps me, and then you have people like Bras who is more typical like atlanto-med variety, then you got people like Damiao, and Sebastianus who would fit really well in this particular group, maybe slightly lighter than avg pop., but still look super typical to me in every way. In the Algarve, the most southern area --and where my family is from--I see people like them, and then in Porto I saw exact replicas as well so that is the beauty of Portugal.

I get the point...makes sense since Portugal is small and isolated....

Sometimes, i don't know why, i have the feeling that we italians have a better overlap with the portuguese than with the spanish...of course it's just a feeling....

Avg probably thinks that Northern and Southern Portuguese can be distinguished by looks.

I don't think it works that way.

Even if the north has more lighter types, I assume the bulk of the population is Med looking, from north to south, plus islands.

We have the idea, in Europe, on anthroforums, that the northern part of a country is significantly lighter than the south, so they aply this theory to Portugal/Iberia.
