Why didn't Rusyns never got a country?

In Hungary there is a very nationalist society and many hungarian would die (not joke) to change these borders even if it's against the common sense or the balance of powers. In 2006 when the nationalist uprising happened in Hungary there were such voices that if the revolution wins in Budapest and later in the countryside, then after the totaly militarization lof the society the hungarian army and the paramilitary groups would export the revolution to the neighbour areas to fight the freedom of other hungarians in the Carpathian Basin, i have heard such legends. So an independent Rusyn State would be equivalent to war.

I thought Revanchist ideology lost popularity after WWII and many years of Communist rule and main enemies of Hungarian Nationalists are only Gypsies.

I think there has been its renaissance 5-10 years ago but right now i dont think it is very popular.
There are ofc louder voices but the majority is indifferent imo

It's still popular in these countries where millions of your peoples live outside the borders. For example in Hungary, Serbia, Albania, but even in Austria too if you see South Tyrol. The communism is just opressed these feelings what existed in the societies deep inside, the average people was not communist.

Rusyns, Ukrainian and Belarusians belong with Russia and Russians

just an opinion, don't hate on it. ethnic states are a thing of the past, the region is not very rich, only for a bit of tourism maybe, so people would need to trade local resources for food and such (region is quite cold and not suited for agriculture).

my view on it considering the geopolitics of the region: if they would get autonomy in each of the countries they live in, it'd be great. independence is a bit more than they can handle as a community I think.
