The calculator is fine, I guess. I was not expecting it to give the same results as 23andMe because it uses a different procedure and it is not based on PCA coordinates. I only posted them as a curiosity\term of comparison since the datasheet is inspired on 23andMe's regions.

No it's an interesting question and something I've noticed before. I know you're joking but I'm also curious why some of these things occur. Another thing is I get Swedish over Danish or Norwegian even though I'm closer to the other two distance wise.

I could not tell you the reason why that happens, or if it is something particular that happens to you individually, or if it is a norm for Irish people, or if that closeness with the Scandinavians that the G25 shows is real or an effect of the algorithm and/or the coordinates


My idea before starting with this genetic tests etc, was that all those from the British islands, although with their own genetic peculiarities, formed a particular group.

And more or less I continue thinking this.

I don't particularly take it as accurate but looking at Irish results they are more likely to get Norwegian and Irish so getting Swedish shows a bit more eastern shift. It's just something that is interesting in some results and also not getting English. If you are looking at these results for a long time you notice some things over a period of time. I'm not really looking for an answer. Just stating something as you brought up about English.
