Why does white rappers exist?

I don't think there's any musical genre in USA that is empty of any White influence. Then the main reason why one race like the Black one or another dominates some genres in USA is mainly due to segregation and the habit of separation.


The direct ancestor of Rap is the Spoken Word which has always been practiced in Europe and was very influential in Ancient Greece and many others European cultures. It was also dominant among African Blacks, but not by choice but by default as they barely had any writing system. But the renewal and the development of the Spoken Word during the XXth century is largely due to White authors like Vachel Lindsay, Robert Frost, Robert Pinsky or the Beat Generation authors.

In 1936, the poet John Grierson already added music to the poem This is the night mail. When you combine Spoken Word with music and add percussion to it, it becomes very close to rap music. Swedish musician Evert Taube did it in 1962 for example with his song Kinesika Muren.





So, some of the earliest forms of proto-rap have been produced by Whites. But the first real Rap song is the song Prisencolinensinainciusol which has been produced in 1972 by Adriano Celentano, an Italian musician.



In fact, cultures deeply routed in street life, practiced by people from poor background, involving the combination of chanted Spoken Word, percussion, lyrical battles, protest song dealing insolently with themes like ego trip, sex and violence were already part of the troubadour culture of Western Europe and present in Scotland and in Scandinavian countries. Thereby, it's actually the Scottish immigrants who introduced the practice of proto-rap battle in USA. Even a French rapper like Shurik'n (who is Black) describe his artistic approach as similar with a troubadour approach.

These proto-rapper knew a lot about pistols and gang and had no inhibitions to say the N-word.

What separates proto-rap from modern rap is the use of drum machines, and a lot of them have been developed by White engineers and had a great impact on Black Music as well as on the development of music genres which mostly involves Whites. Moreover, "Black" rap relied considerably on sampling of song that had been produced by Whites musicians several years before.

Roger Linn is a White designer who created the LM-1 drum machines, the first one which permits this sampling, both the song sampled by Black rappers and the technology which permitted this sampling were of White origin. Far to be allowed to claim any monopoly over Rap music they could actually be sentenced in court for cultural appropriation.

Another aspect of rap is beatboxing. But it's absolutely not specifically Black in origin. We can see White musicians performing beatboxing as early as in the 1960s like Paul McCartney or Pink Floyd for example.



But Spoken Word or beatboxing, were actually already practiced during prehistory. And it's probably the very reason why it's more popular among Blacks musicians than among White musicians. White musicians often feel like these form are too much primitive, that's why it fits very well with Black musicians, who originated from mostly oral culture and thus relying considerably on spoken word; and also percusions as African Blacks never invented any forms of wind or string instruments others than primitive ones.

For Whites, Rap is just a form of expression among many others. Still, the reason why White rappers exists is that Whites have developed early on their own form of proto-rap and the technologies and techniques which permits modern rap without the help of any Black influence and they have no reason to stop.

And if the Generation X was full of talented Black rappers, today Black rap is a walking dead. One of the reason may be that it doesn't use sampling of White's songs anymore and use auto-tune (another technology developed by some White people).

Gangster rap is the real rap not this soft rap what you can see in the top lists.

Gangsta rap is not more "real rap" than others genre. It only appears 1 decade after the first black rap song. Which itself appeared after the first White rap songs. And Gangsta rap is just a branch of hardcore rap.

Seth Gueko is an example of White French rapper. In France, Rap music developed in ghettos suburbs at a time when White were still relatively numerous in these urban areas. These White French rapper often did hardcore rap and neither them, neither Eminem have any "street credibility" lesson to receive from some wealthy Black mamma boys like Will Smith, Kanye West (who do softcore rap) or even Notorious BIG and many others.



Another example of hardcore rap band is BOSS. Here there's Whites AND Blacks, and mixed people and Arab etc. This is not specifically White or Black, it's just diverse, there's even a Mongoloid among them.



The leader of this band is Joey Starr, co-founder of NTM, one of the most popular hardcore rap band. The other co-founder is Kool Shen, who is White:



One rapper that I like at the moment is Amalek who is an Octoroon (7/8 French, 1/16 SSA, 1/16 Chinese), almost White, nationalist, catholic. Have been in jail several times, knows about pistols and guns, gettho etc currently on the run and sought by the police for his political positions.



In the above video he is in featuring with Laryen, another White Nationalist rapper in a similar case.

He was not fully Black. But there's a significant number of great Black rockers, even in some subgenres of Metal (24/7 Spurz, Living Colour), I can hardly imagine a Black in the most "extremes" genre though, it doesn't sound authentic.

The rap is music of poor blacks who live in ghettos, they make the best rap songs. Basically they can say what they want unlike white rappers, for example they can't say the N word and many other thing and the real rap music is about living in ghettos, pistols, gangsters, and 5 N word in every song. 99% of white rappers came from rich elite areas, they have never seen any ghetto, or pistol only in the Die Hard movie, i always laughed at these rich white guys who are singing about poor life, criminal life etc, so i think their music is just larping. Another thing i have noticed white rappers are black wannabes they fight for blacks attention in their complete life but most will never accept them, it makes no sense.

There is a variety of other topics that feature in hip-hop / rap songs. But those white rappers who rap about ghetto stuff are indeed often ridiculous and fake. There is nothing wrong though with white rappers existing unless they are 'whiggers' so to speak

What's next? Barring non-blacks from performing jazz or blues? It has also been created by black people as genres.
