We likely wouldn't be talking about gun laws if it weren't for media sensationalization that has played a major part in normalizing public shootings with AR-15s while also ignoring the socioeconomic issues behind the gang related shootings in our major cities.

7 day waiting period for AR-15s

Ban bump stocks

Mandatory 6 hours of firearms training within 3 years of all military style weapons purchases (if hunter safety course has not been completed as a youth)

7 day waiting period for semi-automatic handguns with a 7 round capacity or higher

Increased emphasis on firearms safety and training-with the rapid urbanization of America, there are way too many incels owning firearms without having grown up learning to use them and respect what they can do. This needs to be addressed. My son grew up differently than I did and I wouldn't trust him with any sort of firearm (or UTV sport vehicle) at this point.

We need Swizz model for gun ownership. The ease of access to guns and lack of detail checks in the US is sickening guarantor that these events keep happening.

Ahmad Al-Issa, the man police say murdered 10 people at the King Soopers shopping center in Boulder, Colorado this week, was known by the FBI due to an unrelated investigation. He believes in conspiracy theories, including that 'racist Islamophobic people' are hacking into his phone, and that there was more than one shooter involved in the Christchurch Mosque Shooting in New Zealand. He also used to attack his classmates, accusing them of racism, and then would reportedly threaten to file hate crime charges to bully them into submission. Additionally, a law enforcement source told Syrian migration expert Laura Loomer that Al-Issa committed the attack in the name of ISIS.

Also, if we are to talk about crime, let's go to Brazil. Ever since gun ownership was completely banned, crime has staggerdly increased and tens of thousands of civilians, especially in the favelas, are killed by other people who purchase firearms illegally.
