Default Original language films and children

My daughter is soon going to be two years old. She loves books and she speaks French very well. She is also learning Flemish now, as we recently put her in a Flemish crèche. Sometimes, I like to watch some short films with her and I’ve even bought a book proposing great films that children should watch, according to their age:

I have already watched with her some cartoons by Yuri Norstein or Hermína Týrlová, or some Tex Avery’s, in the original language, and she enjoys them. But I’m not sure I should, as she grows up (when she will be 3 for ex.), continue to show her films in the original language. Would she enjoy that, even if she doesn’t understand everything? By the way, I have already downloaded plenty of films for her for free, which are in the original language and I don’t necessarily find them dubbed.

What should I do? From what age should a child watch movies in the original language?

I personally would encourage learning languages as early as possible, even though i've heard arguments against that. I'm not sure why. Though. I'd focus on Dutch (or German) and English instead of being too all over the place with too many languages, it would end up confusing.

Yeah i ve heard that too, as learning a new language alters brain in the early stages and delays the development of each respective language. There has been contradictory litteratures, it seems however there are more benefits than risks.

So you think it's a good thing if I put my daughter in a Flemish school and if we speak French at home? The only thing I'm worried about is that maybe she would have difficulties writing in French, as it has a very complex grammar and orthography. I think I would push her to read also books in French then. What do you think?

It's a good thing to put her in a Flemish school and speak French at home, I mean the ability to be involved in different cultural spheres is one of the most valuable things ever. Also Flemish schools are of higher quality than francophone schools so it's good.

Yes, she has more chances of success if she is associated with the Flemings rather than with the Walloons, who are losers.
