Social Networks that you miss.

MSN Messenger, which later became Windows Live Messenger. I remember when they introduced the webcam feature in 2003. I never used ICQ, nor did I know anyone who did. Well, maybe because I didn't use it.

I remember the old YouTube when you could post clickable video responses to someone's upload.

I remember Xanga, Neopets, and AOL chatrooms as a kid

I don't recognise any of them but then again I am from Poland so it makes sense probably.

I remember though fondly one Polish social network called grono.net that was easily navigable and fun to browse / post on it. It is though gone and was active between 2004 and 2012. Grono literally means a raceme in Polish, but also a circle (of acquaintances etc.)

I also miss constant trolling at portals like onet.pl and its vibrant subfora dedicated to sports, music etc., news, sadly now the only way you can leave a comment though is if you have a facebook account, so nosurprise ... you'll not find any replies below most of the time.

I would say so, yes. Many aspects felt like a social network, and there were many opportunities/ways to socialize on Neopets, but I guess it felt more like a game.

Club Penguin was a similar thing I think? I am just checking whether my memory serves me right without looking for clues on Wikipedia or google. I think I saw it on miniclip.com, lol. Do you remember those silly flash games?

mIRC and the vintage version of MSN messenger. Specifically me and my friends used to troll people through mIRC during computer classes, that's why i remember it with fondness . MySpace was fun for new music, but I can't say i miss it.

don't miss any, but when I was a teenager these were the ones in use on here:

- ICQ (used to meet and chat especially to people from ex-Soviet countries, dunno if it was popular in Romania outside Slavs)
- mIRC (local and topic-based chatrooms, quite fun)
- Yahoo! Messenger (I actually miss this one, I think Facebook sucks, I even deleted my account and won't reopen it)
- Yahoo! groups (this was was very nice as well, you could be member of interest/hobby-based groups and could find out a lot of stuff from other people, especially since Internet was only at the beginning and you couldn't find it all online)
- Yahoo! chatrooms (waste of time, it was fun to chat with girls from other countries)
- hi5 (a Facebook for kids, though it had this great advantage that you could use a nickname, unlike the intruder shit fb is)
- faces.md (popular in Rep. Moldova, great search page, people were so interested in chatting to strangers back then lol )

First was Orkut back in 2008-10 . If these anonymous forums are not counted , then last too ( yes , no fb or something ever since ! ) . No , don't miss it (rather a great riddance in retrospect) .
