Erdogan is a neo-conservative who panders to his audience while giving massive subsidies and tax cuts to major banks, big tech, construction conglomerates and military industrial complex that Turkish taxpayer will cover while assuming the position of cuck. The last example is the 33 billion cuts in social spending over 7 years for that F35 rip off TAI TFX, but hey his constituency can now hear ezan from Hagia Sophia.

Only way how I see Turkey is ever going to get close to "Islamic law" is maybe in 20ish years when on 80 million Turks there are 40 million Kurds, the business elites who would lose trillions in a civil war, could restore the Ottoman monarchy and the Office of the Caliph to make Kurds more docile. Considering the social conditioning that is going on trough mass media trough "Islamic proto-nationalist" propaganda (in form of all those Vikings copies running on TRT), Caliphal imagery on every street corner and cultural/historic rehabilitation of the Ottoman Empire, Turkish powerbrokers and power that be are intent on making such a move.
