If we take a national average they would say that they are between the two, if we take measurements by regions they would vary depending on the area, which if true is that France has more Central European faces than Spain, including the south, but if we qualify France as a European country Central would undoubtedly be the central country with more Mediterranean and obscure elements than its Central European neighbors without a doubt.

Gun to your head, who would you say they look closer overall?

A good amount of French can pass as Scandinavians, they are Central Europeans after all, lol. Also it appears they are very close to Germans genetically.

Regarding the question I would say they are half way between the two.

If you made me to choose between the two I would say that to Spaniards, but because the Dutch can be ridiculously blond.

The French look very foreign to my eyes, in this video for example, although it is not good because there are people from Quebec and non-Europeans.

Even the Algerian that appears is more typically South-European.

The exotic French do not exist, they are Spanish immigrants or mixed french/Spanish people.

Whenever people say that a person is exotic, what do they mean?

That person that uses that expression is ashamed that there are people with these traits in his country, and that he does not want to accept in front of others in this forum that he is part of his ethnic group, because he would like him to have a more Nordic appearance, I think most of the times that term is used in this forum means that.

You are also exaggerating a bit saying that the French look very foreign to your eyes, because there are lots of them that can pass as Spaniards.

The French tourists that I have seen look very Central European and were recognizable or visibly different in my eyes, I also had a French friend of Burdeox but he has Spanish ancestry, so far all my experience with them.

Curiously, the Central Europeans are quite exotic in my opinion.
