They're not, and Irish women are a bit taller than women in many European countries. They're not a bunch of leprechauns.

You are mistaken. The average Irish and the average Scandinavian are about the same height, with less of one inch in difference. Ha!ha!ha!ha!ha! The Irish are not much shorter!

The average height for Ireland, after looking at both male and female averages is 5 Feet 7. 72 inches ( 172.02 cm)
The average height for Norway is 5 feet 7.97 inches ( 172.65 cm)
I chose Norway as it is blondest in Scandinavia and Ireland is the most ginger in the Isles.

It's 5'10.5 for 19-year-old men, and it's 5'5 for 19-year-old women. They're not dwarfed by Vikings these days.

Yes, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands do have a higher average height, however the difference is definitely not as great as people put it. Far from there. Sweden and Finland are more or less like Norway.

They are dead average to slightly below. The men are usually 5'9- 5'11 or so. They aren't short but Scandinavians are definitely taller.
