Hahaa, according to him Szeklers are the purest Hungarians, and they are much closer to Csangos than to Hungarians of Hungary.

We have example of lot of Serbs from Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and we completly integrated with Serbian Serbs.
Montenegrin Serbian tribes are ruling elite in Serbia https://www.ekspres.net/region/detic...vljaju-srbijom

Serbs from Croatia and Bosnia are also well integrated in Serbia.

Thing is Csango picked up lof of Moldovan cultural influences in all areas so they can be pretty exotic to Hungarians who aren't familiar with them. Szekelys in comparison don't have much in common with Romanian culture apart from sheperding and they have much stronger Saxon influence. Szekelys formed in Transylvania which was culturally clear western/central Euro region and Csangos in Moldova which was culturally eastern European. They are closest related genetically, but culturally very different (except that one subgroup of Csango is actually Szekely in origins).

It depends on which group we are talking about: For example, in what years did they/their families emigrate?
Are they Balkan Turks or other Balkanites such as Albanians? Do they live in Anatolia or Thrace?

For example, there would be significant differences between a Thessaloniki immigrant whose family immigrated in 1870 and a Bulgarian Turk who came in the 90s.

Or, if the family of the person settled in a remote Anatolian town, where there are fewer Balkanite immigrants, that person would be more likely to blend in with Anatolians.

There is a lot to write more about this subject, but I believe if we compare Kaspias and Aruncaz, we can have a clearer picture.

80%~ of Northern Greece was non-greek. Eastern Thrace(Today's Turkey) had a greek plurality while western thrace(Today's Greece) was like 95++% muslim. Selanik also had a turkish plurality. 1892 census.

There is also a Vilayet of Selanik version. I like these maps.
