The state of Falcon, in Northwestern Venezuela has a population of about 900,000 inhabitants. It has mostly a semi-arid climate.

The state is located to the north of the geographic region known as the Corian System, which is a mountain system north of the Andes (occupying mostly the states of Lara and Falcon), that consists on a series of ridges and valleys that go mostly in an east-west direction.

Some individuals here and there look more or less SSA mixed, but in general, the African input is very diluted in the general population of this state. It makes sense, because is a mostly semi-arid state, which translates in not having received many African slaves during colonial times.

Yeap, in that peninsula in the very north of Falcon (and Venezuela) that is almost an island if it wasn't for that very strait isthmus.
