Smart ass comments above (except for Stearsolina's, she commented before I posted). To me, Greece is an important country that has a large influence on Western culture. If it weren't for Greeks soldiers fighting the brown hordes coming from the east, Europe as a whole would be trampled under foot by Mongol and Semite invaders. We all have to celebrate the enlightenment given by this incredible people to the world. And on a personal note, I hope I have some Greek ancestors, haha.

A lovely country that has so much history and such a great impact on the world (democracy was invented in Greece, laws were first written down and presented to the public in Greece, the widely known figures such as Aristoteles, Plato, and Socrates whose philosophies were a stepping stone towards modern science....and while Cicero is usually viewed as the father of rhetoric, it was also sort of invented in Greece by Demosthenes, etc etc) with much in common with my own that I would love to visit and get to know more thoroughly in person someday.

Greece is not in debt, it is the entire civilized world that is in debt to Greece, because every positive step that has been taken to progress has been illuminated by the ideas that were given to the world by Greece millennia ago.

Craddle of the European civilization, better said the Western civilization. Inspiration for Roma. Great culture, people and life of style (and this being said by a Spaniard means a lot), famous cuisine (which I dont know except yogourts), great architecture, EU scapegoat, I like their enthusiasm for sports which is identical than in Spain, great coastal landscapes, etc etc.
I see it as a Spain2.0 or a Spanish minuature in many aspects.
One of the few European countries I dont dislike.

All country have a certain amount of debt,the sourhern European one have suffer from them more than the rest of the continent. Should i maybe stay on my knee while talking to you because your great "ancestors" created the civilised world?
