Hello, so I havent been on here in ages. The first DNA test I took in 2016 was ancestry which was very accurate for me at first, but then with each update it seemed to become more generalized. I unfortunately didn't have as many hits as I was hoping with records on my maternal side either. Last year I decided to take a myheritage kit. Interestingly enough I did have a hit for a great aunt on my maternal grandmother's side and filled in a lot of gaps on the Czech (now we know we arent Polish actually on one side based on this connection and the related immigration records I later found originating out of Bohemia etc).
I also found it interesting though when I ran MH and AN through Gedmatch, mytrueancestry etc that the kit was a little more specific populations wise based on records and family info.
I've read a lot of mixed things about MH but for me it has been useful anyway. The only thing I'm trying to rack my brain over is the significant portion of Balkan DNA and was surprised if we are indeed Czech???
Anyway, I was curious what others thought of the test. My husband did AN but not MH and he is trying to decide which other test he should try next.
What are your experiences with MH or other DNA testing programs?
