Which animal do you prefer: tortoises or turtles?

Now i see both, id say tortoises. Turtles look like they are sulking all the time and they have palms.

Weird question lol, but i like both. I had a Trachemys scripta troostii(Cumberland turtle) for many years, unfortunately she died some years ago.

If I uderstand it well Tortoises are the big ones and Turtles are smaller species? In my native language (Czech) we say ŽELVA (pl. ŽELVY) for both ones.
