I remembered: Croats are so toxic that even Gypsies don't survive near them (c) Stearsolina

Bulgarian Gypsies on average same as Serbian Gypsies look very dark and non-European with Indian and Middle Eastern features. Exist exceptions of course. Few days ago i have seen very brown Gypsy, his skin is like of southern Indians. My mother also seen him and she said that he is too dark for Gypsy.
Romanian Gypsies are lighter on average. Among them it's not rare that babies or children 4, 5, 6 years old have blonde or light brown hair.
I heard from someone long time ago if you see Gypsies with lighter hair (especially children) they are probably Romanian Gypsies (they exist in Serbia).

Dalmatians, not Croats. Yes, Dalmatians don't allow Gypsies to settle and Gypsies don't dare to come there.
In northern Croatia it's completely different story. Local population in northertnmost Croatian county Međimurje is very peaceful and tolerant and thus harassed by Gypsies, who are biggest minority in there and growing.

Interestingly Romanian members say their Gypsies are Indic looking compared to ones in Hungary. It think they are pretty diverse everywhere, from south Slavic to Indian looking while most look just typical Gypsy.
Quite a few look MENA or Latino.
In my city Gypsies are often called Brazilians.

Here, Gypsies mostly look MENA and Indic, imo.
Btw, a Romanian member once said a joke about Gypsies having narrow eyes. I think here it's rare.
Do what you should.

I heard Brazilians for Gypsies from few Serbs. More common nick for them in Serbia is Ganferi and Ganci (Cigan on šatrovački).
In Serbia exist Romanian Gypsies who are recent immigrants from Romania (in the last few decades). And also Karavlachs ("black Vlachs"), they are Gypsies who came from Wallachia and Transylvania in Ottoman time. Karavlachs exist also in NE Bosnia.

From what I heard most Gypsies in my city came from Kosovo. But in my building our Gypsy neighbour who is local here for few generations brought bride from Baranja, so she's probably closest to Hungarian Gypsies.
In Lika Serbian villages lately appear very violent Gypsy gangs supposedly from Romania.
