Do Europeans think it's odd that American men wear shorts in casual settings?

I think that here in the USA it's common for men to wear shorts of all ages when the warmer weather hits, but in the Europe, shorts are considered only for children or men playing sports. My dad says that its okay when you're a teenager, but if you're over 25 you should never wear shorts. Most men in the summer months wear shorts to places other than just the pool or the beach, but even to some more casual restaurants or just going about their business. In Europe this may be seen as odd . I have nice legs, though but I wear them more for comfort and only when doing more athletic things. I could never wear shorts if it's below 70 degrees outside, though. I notice northern men will wear shorts in the winter and just pull up their socks. Sad.

We wear shorts informally, although usually they finish just above or at the knee. Yours are a couple of inches too high for anything but sports and the colour is probably not typical for male legwear. But who cares what we think? Do what you want and what makes you happy.

Sportswear type of shorts and long shorts, yes it's weird. In summer people wear shorts in Europe too, even going out at night, but classier ones with a shirt inside their shorts, some nice belt and loafers. We see Americans coming from afar because many look like this

Wearing shorts and caps is something that European do too alot. Especially in UK or me, your as I said before are way too high and you look chubby so I would rather not wear those.

I could wear mine lower, but they are actually swim trunks that are meant to be worn also as athletic shorts.
