well I definitely don't pass as a Syrian and I could easily pass as Scottish... Most of Greeks are really pale, especially the ones from mainland. In my job we all look really white. And I also teach some students and it's not uncommon to have some blond ones. The Greeks from the Aegean islands or Asia Minor can be darker, but what you say that we all look dark is just a stereotype!
