Default People from Audomarois, Northern France

Audomarois is the region of Saint-Omer (Saint Audomar, hence Audomarois), in eastern Pas-de-Calais, very north of France.

The region lies between Anglo-Saxon and Frankish colonization areas. Oddly, they don't look blonder than Normans despite having much more Germanic DNA (they are perhaps even darker).

There are a few foreign Extra-European and Med types but the vast majority seems to be locals.

They are identical to Germans in terms of lightness but feature wise they look finer and longer faced. Gaulish element is dominant (the so-called "Keltic Nordid") but there is very strong Germanic influence too.

Interesting set, these people in general look quite British, i am quite sure this is a British or Belgian picture, the people there look too northern shifted even for northern France and the architecture behind also does not look French

No, they are locals (shirts are provided by a local firm "urba stone" from Escœuilles).

The buildings which look indeed like English houses in the background are actually probably schools, many brick schools like that were built all across the country after WW2.

Otherwise Flemish looking brick architecture is actually normal in Northern France

    (often depressing imo)

This would make sense regarding their genetic composition.

Interesting, it seems that architectural style and phenotypes often go hand in hand, i believe that once you go into the part of France where flatter roofs and cream coloured buildings are the scene you will also see far less Nordid phenotypes.

These compared to those of Brittany are lighter, those of Brittany are darker.

This gives me to understand that the French Celts are not like the British Celts.

Pass OK as Southern English by and large.

It's very weird how people from Northern/Hauts de France and Normandy can look a lot like Southern English despite being not that similar genetically, yet Bretons are the complete opposite.

The reason why is probably because the former has more shared recent ancestry (Germanic, Celtic and minor Roman), just perhaps a bigger percentage of Celtic/Roman that drags them away.
