The state of Cojedes, located in the West Center of the country, has a population of 416,327 inhabitants, according to the 2018 national census.
Limits to the north with the states of Carabobo and Yaracuy, to the east with Guarico, to the south with Barnias, to the west with Portuguesa, and to the northwest with Lara.
It mostly belong to the Venezuelan llanos (central plains of the country), though the very north of the state is crossed by the "serrania del interior" (southern branch of the coastal range) and the Nirgua massif.
