    Yeah, no doubt. There are many Afro Cubans, but I believe they are more on the lower class side of things, socioeconomically (especially since many are newer arrivals). I come from a upper middle class background personally, so just did not have much exposure to 'em. The vast majority of Cubans I knew growing up were like second or third generation, and often times their families came during the first wave or around that period of time.

    Although....I did know one black Cuban kid in middle school, and he kind of had like a psuedo zambo phenotype.

    Not so. There are still many guajiros left on the island, in fact, I'd say they are the only peasant population of its type in the Caribbean, as in, a pred. Euro peasantry.
