I don't know what that map exactly is but I guess it is one family line of mine where my surname originated from but I have like everyone else many family lines and many of my family lines are gypsy but that one is not so I guess it is possible to see it like you but majority goes by the whole family make up your thinking is really in the minority but you can say im not a gypsy it does not bother mean but I'm aware that in the next moment many will again call me gypsy here and everywhere else so better be prepared

Du hast nur ein Geschlecht, das Geschlecht => die eine Familie, DIE Familie, and du bist der Mitglieder von diese Familie, not someone esle and because she isn't gypsy, then you are also not a Gypsy.
