Default Most popular football clubs in Eastern Europe

I base this ranking of the number of Facebook likes each club gets (or if likes are unavailable I take the number of follows for that page), and the minimum threshold is 100.000 likes. I wouldn't call it the ultimate ranking of popularity, but since Facebook is pretty evenly used all over Eastern Europe I think this number is a pretty good indicator how popular these clubs are:

Edit: for Russian clubs I used Vk numbers of likes, since it is more popular than Facebook.

By fan base Spartak Moscow more popular than Shakhtar and Zenit. Dynamo Kiev more popular than Shakhtar. Zenit and Shakhtar playing in eurocups every year, so thats why they have subscribers on FB.

Bad management, always scandals around. They were permanent champions in 90x, except one time, but when Zenit Gazpromburg appeared in top teams, Loko and CSKA with better management, Rubin with autocratic but strong coach then Spartak became the champion only one time in season 16/17, but then they fired the coach that helped them to get the title (Massimo Carrera) with scandal.

I edited my initial post with this new data your provided, indeed Vk is much more used platform in Russia than Facebook. In my opinion you can see a trend with the current number of likes, which points in the direction that several clubs with past success but which aren't doing very well anymore tend to fall out of favor and current football supporters move to those clubs that are doing better in the past years. I think it's quite normal, since casual football fans outnumber hardcore football fans, and casual lovers of football more easily switch their favorite teams than those who still have a more romantic and traditionalist view on football.

In Hungarian case it's interesting to see what a huge discrepancy is between Ferencváros (which in regional comparison also doesn't have that many supporters) and the next closest clubs, like Fehérvár, Debrecen and Diógyőr, which only have around 60-70.000 likes. Actually, compared to the region Hungarians have some of the lowest interest in supporting local clubs (except Slovaks), I personally know more people who have various Western European teams as their favorites while they don't care so much about Hungarian teams. The very low quality football played in Hungarian championships over the past decades definitely didn't help in people supporting their local teams.

What happened to Hungarian football? In the 60-70s there were high quality players.

Facebook likes doesn't show the real popularity of the clubs. In Hungary the Ferencváros is the most popular by far, often called as second national team. If the Ferencváros plays international matches then basically the complete country will see it. My father said when the FTC played in countryside the locals supported FTC against their own city/village.

Hard to say, but in the 80' years the derbies in Budapest were very popular with 30000-60000 people.
