Snails cooked the Portuguese way. A delicacy that is very popular during summer and loved by nearly everyone I know of but I do not really like it.

Kinda resembles the traditional dish from my village, Maranhos, but the filling is completely different. Ours consist of a piece of goat tripe stuffed with goat meat, ham and rice and heavily seasoned with mint, paprika, parsley and others seasoning with everything drizzled in white wine.

Raisins, watermelon, goose liver, brain of pig and and cattle
In my country it's a custom to eat pig's blood, but it's better than what it sounds. I'm not saying it's an amazing food but it's decent.
This is how cooked blood looks like

It's not a custom in every family, but in my family it is.
Not a food but I dislike "pálinka" which is a hungarian spirit made from local fruits, it simply tastes bad to me (like every other hard liquor).

Romanians eat a lot of parizer, which I don't even taste, yuck.

animal products have the biggest potential of being yuck (heart, brain, blood dishes, terrible).

on the other hand, I can eat snails or cow stomach soup in cow bone broth (I actually like this one a lot)

Apparently Polish flaki / tripe dish is still much better than its equivalent in other countries where they do not even bother to wash the stomach / offal properly as it is done in Poland. So it can get more gross.

There are Poles who eat it too but you won't find them in your grocery store in Poland unlike in France. My father when he was young used to gather and cook them (escargot snails / Helix pomatia). I've never eaten a snail but I was at a wedding once when they were available in my country.

Helix pomatia / Escargot is extremely common in Poland, apparently this species did not spread widely around Europe until Late Antiquity. Many biologists consider that its initial range covered mostly ... Poland, precisely Silesia + Lesser Poland / Małopolska.
