It's not that surprising, even Portugueses on average are predicted to have a skin as light as Poles, even a tad lighter.
From the GWAS study, it's been discussed here many times already. Eventhough new snps might be discovered to refine it, we know the most "Celtic" like UK have that meaty skin. So light that it glows red through some subsurface scattering of blood vessels.
