Europe is really cold, you have homeless people dying of it in south europe all the time in winter. Like Atlanta is more similar to Andalusia, and Dallas to the middle east but they also have a wider spectrum.

I am 100 km south of Toronto. Here is cold winter than Portugal because we are continental but the summer is actually little bit hotter than Portugal. Last year we recorded days with atleast +20 c in 9/12 months and 3/12 without.
