You have them in Spain in houses/buildings? I thought they live only in hot and humid tropical climates.

Of course there are salamanquesas in Spain. And, despite their bad reputation --they're ugly, make people blind, a myth, a lie-- they're beneficial, since they eat the mosquitos and moscas in homes.

You see these a lot in the summer in Spain, the first is very common pretty much anywhere in houses and whatnot, the second is found mainly around coastal areas.

They seem to be a different species than the ones that I posted.

But its interesting that even Spain also have them. Looks like Southern European/Med countries also have these geckos.

Anyway I hate having them inside my house. They might eat insect but they look ugly and sometimes they will eat food on the table if left unattended.

Do they die or hibernate during winter or cooler seasons?

Do you also have them in your house? I don't like having them inside houses. They poo and look crawly and creepy. Also sometimes they will eat human food if left unattended.

Interesting how they arrive in Paraguay as it is landlocked.

Btw how cold it can get there during winter? Do you have four seasons?

I remember last year during a summer night I tried to kill one of them in my kitchen, but he ran away quite fast, I couldn't find it anymore, when I woke up the gecko I tried to kill was looking at me directly from my bed, then he ran away. My bedroom was far from the kitchen lol

I would assume so, because I don't see them that much from around November to March. I've had both of those (the second makes a weird, high pitched noise every once in a while) in my house at times since I live by the coast. Man, salamanquesas are harmless, and only stay if they have sufficient insects to feast upon - they are literally protecting you from disease carrying insects. So, if you keep the house insect free and clean, they will leave you alone.
