Default Why did human intelligence evolve to a level that's not needed for hunter-gatherer lifestyle?

Why did human intelligence (of certain populations anyway) evolve to a level that's not needed for hunter-gatherer lifestyle?
Were high IQ people sexually positively selected after the neolithic revolution?

    Yes.
There isn't a linear correlation between IQ and brain size, when it comes to humans at least.
I read Inuits have largest brains (not sure if that is really true though), yet they aren't high IQ folks.

But intelligence has increased. Probably parts of the brain which make it easier to survive "in the wild" are the ones that have declined.

hunter-gatherer must be smart, otherwise he won't survive. There was never any sexual selection

To answer my own question= Competition.

There was a competition among hunter-gatherers. (as we have today) So, a part of hunter-gatherers discovered (or forced upon) a new lifestyle, namely farming (or something else), and they simply survived with that.

They have a "standard" IQ of 91 is the tallest found. Native European "standard" +- 84-87 (Slavs from the countryside 79)

Nope! The "civilization" started in the fertile delta Nile and Euphrates, two regions surrounded by desert.
When a civilization starts, "problems" begin. Higher birth rate, malnutrition and slave or semi-slave labor moving stone tones to the "king" tomb! Does that seem smart to you?
