    Default DFB stole Croatian player!!!

    https://www.transfermarkt.de/sosa-ka...ew/news/384736

I'm shocked and extremely angry like most of Croatian fans. Sosa confirmed he will play for Germany, probably on this summer Euros.

So, the guy is captain of Croatian U21 team, born Croat from Croatia, with 0% German blood, who came to Germany as an adult and still speaks German badly.
Played for all teams of Dinamo Zagreb and Croatian U teams before transfer to Stuttgart where he exploded this season.

Unfortunately he had no senior caps because Croatia is staffed on left back plus our coach left him play small U21 Euros (he's 23 but had right to complete cycle with them) this spring because first time ever they passed the group stage.

Represented future of Croatia with few other left backs if not for this Euro, than surely after it.

    But Germany brought him.

What a disgusting traitor, and what a shameful act from DFB who needs to steal players from small nation to play for their nigger and MENA team.

I would understand had he been born and raised in Germany, but this is unseen situation of Germany buying adult player like Qatar and weakening Croatian team with small talent pool where each talent matters.

Incredible betrayal by Sosa, if he appears in Croatia this summer he will get beaten and spat at.

Fuck Sosa and subhuman German Federation!!! If Croatia plays against Germany soon, hopefully our players beat their untalented diverse asses and break Sosa's leg.

LOOOOL guy can't play for Germany after all due to FIFA rules

Now he's screwed, Croatia doesn't want him back, fans and media crucified him, his family is shamed by traitor stamp and Germany can't use him but they ruined guy's national team career.
He's got to live with consequences of his decisions.

DFB became a laughing stock, proclaimed him their new player only to realize few days later he can't switch jerseys.
They don't care, and now Sosa wonders what happened and how could he be so stupid.

You got what you deserved, bitch! up:

Never really heard for him, only after searching for Croatian footballers on Fifa- not sure if he is really that good, but DFB being unable to produce strikers is also kind of pathetic. That said Löw also wished Alaba would have played Left Back for Germany

He's very good, but been playing on world class level only for last 6 months. Before that he was in 2. Bundesliga where he didn't play much and had injury problems.
Fantastic left foot (nickname in Germany: "Flankengott"), can play with right too, will probably be in Bundesliga team of the season and he plays for shitty Stuttgart team.

However needs to be said he looks that good because Stuttgart plays with 3 in the back so he plays a wingback which suits him very well. With 4 in the back he is not that good and he's often hole in defence.

Player with great promise who may end up in Bayern but totally unnecessary for Germany who have next big thing Luca Netz upcoming at left back position.

Because he was 23 when last time he played for Croatia and he didn't hold German nationality when he played for Croatian U teams.
Rules were changed few months ago to actually help federations like DFB to prevent their youth players of immigrant origins to play for eg. Turkey. Karma is a bitch

Sosa mother was born in Berlin to Croatian immigrants without German citizenship so he didn't have right to that either, but somehow they bend the rules for him. Didn't work out.

oh ok, so he is in fact Left Back- winger- its also a poition DFB struggles to produce for whatever reason (so yeah thats why they wanted Alaba instead of Hector playing).

Full backs are extremly important especially for offensive minded teams- the game Chelsea- Real was again a testament for this- Real played with three natural Center Backs, one of them playing Right Back and you saw they could not produce attacks and play with the Wingers (Hazard/ Vinicius Jr.)- they either lost the ball or made secure passes, which Central Defenders simply tend to do naturally- or play through the middle to the Midfielders, but Chelsea´s defense was too solid to go through the middle.

Modern full backs are often Wingers that got thought to play Full bakc later on like Cancelo for example- but thats why he struggled in City. You are right Sosa might just be able to play attacking wing back with 3 CBs.

    Nice analysisup:

Btw, what do you think for Alaba position change? In Bayern he tried to push himself into midfield, he won't get that at Real where he's probably going. Does he plays MF for Austria?
It's weird plenty of world class defenders like him, and Kimmich want to be midfilders.

    thanks!

Well, Alaba was a left Midfielder in the youth, but this position does not exist anymore almost since nobody is playing a 442 anymore. His wish was indeed to play a more central role, like an 8 but Heynckes saw his ability from the flanks and used him as a Left Back right from the start and he worked with Ribery really well.
Alaba is a decent 6 and Center Back too (personally i dont like him on this Positon but he indeed can use his quickness more on the CB than as CM to avoid counterattacks), since Bayern needed players especially on the CB he played there also a lot of times. He lost a bit of quickness do to age and injury. For Austria he played very often 8/10 but totally struggled- especially that em 2016, Foda used him on the left side again, etiher as Fuill Back or Left Midfielder and he really played much better- his ability to play with Wingers/Strikers like Arnautovic is on the wide position is world class, and he is way more productive- certainly because he is not born to be a central player (like Heynceks said- you need that "Midfielder gene") but also he rarely played anything beyond 6 in Bayern.

I assume he ll play a lot of Left Back or Center Back again in Real, since they have Mendy/ Marcelo as well- let see if he plays 6 as well- probably back up plan for Casemiro, but nothing further than that.
