A chubby friend explained it to me once.

If you're carrying an extra 20lbs of fat (and in your case it's a lot more) that's mass that isn't doing anything except providing energy. It's not muscle or bone. It's not carrying you or propelling you forward, it's dead weight.

If you're just 20lbs overweight, every time you run, it's like me running with a 20lb weight on my back. Every time you take the stairs, you take it with 20lbs on your back. All day, every day, you're wearing 20lbs.

And it doesn't stop there, because over time, you start to damage your knees. They weren't designed to always carry around 20lbs. So it gets even harder. Weight is difficulty that begets more difficulty. Meanwhile, I don't have musculoskeletal issues.

I imagine the difference is you're exhausted from doing things I find extremely easy, physical fatigue versus relatively high-energy, because it just takes so much less energy for me to do the exact same things as you.

    Simple solution: post physique.

It's like removing ballasts in racing. Faster top speed, better acceleration, less tyre wear and consumption, less mass transfers. For a human being 20kg overweight is like sporting a 300kg ballast in a car. Yep.

Average non athletic person is quite weak. I've been training all my life, but years ago I had just a glimpse of what it feels to be close to "normal" after being a year without exercising due to a back injury. And it was a not pleasant experience on so many levels, being physical, mental and even sexual, as your testosterone levels drop.

If you have never been in actual good shape in your life you can't imagine what you are missing out and what kind of potential you have and can attain. If one mix muscular training exercises with martial arts/sports combat practice, you'll get the real life equivalent of having super powers.

I feel better when heavier but for aesthetic reasons only, keep it lean. Don't feel anything different cold related.

Hmm. I go on 15 mile bike rides and you failed to explain what it's like to be low body fat.
